Waiting for Something to Happen ...

Posted on Jun 8th, 2008 by wanderer7 : wanderer7 wanderer7

anyone else get the feeling that something's going to happen soon?

like oil running out, or some new war, or food shortages, or drought, or some disaster?

maybe the big political event, like Obama getting elected at the end of the year.

or some new development in tech, or the web?

something to really shift our consciousness, shake us into a new space; focus the attention of society and the world.

I don't know about you, but something's due to change.  And it's not just 2012 :-)  It seems MUCH MORE IMMEDIATE than that.

Like weeks, or months away ... something big's going to change ...

love and light

dear W7,
why instead of waiting for something to happen,
why don't you start something?
Like reflective screens for laptops,
so we can work in the sun,
or street pavement with embedded solar cells,
or a multilaser rainbow musical instrument,
or an awareness program for a society with mutiple development speeds and
individual coaching towards a multifacetted view of the world …

it's all in your hands

I think I feel what you've described here….that something is definitely going to happen soon. Hopefully, it will be something good!

Hi Bert!  thanks for the tips.  And a quick thanks for your mighty contributions to my “Working Life” blog.  Thanks for sharing so much of your life; it was wonderfully insightful.  Western Europe really does have it good!

“or an awareness program for a society with mutiple development speeds and
individual coaching towards a multifacetted view of the world …”

this sounds like an exceptionally promising field.  Let me ponder on this awhile, and I might blog about it in the coming week :-)  credits will be given of course :-)

Hi Lisa!  hope that pizza went down well.  It sure looked good!

“that something is definitely going to happen soon. Hopefully, it will be something good!”

it might be good … in a negative way … meaning disasters can force people to band together, and put aside their differences.  I'm not hoping for a disaster! but sometimes the wakeup call can be rude and unwelcome.  Humanity probably needs a colective kick in the butt at this time …

but regardless, the net effect will be positive.  That's just the way things are headed.

take care,

w7

ahh, but people do get sick of wars … eventually.

I agree with you though.  It would be folly to write off McCain as having no chance …

Yes, I know what you are speaking of.  Many people are feeling that we are on the brink of something, or rather, that the world is on the brink of something.  Is it more natural disasters? Is it going to be traumatic?  Do we need to be shaken to our core in order to make the changes we need to make? Everyone will have different answers to these questions depending on where they are in their own development, level of fear they carry, etc.  I see the potential for a more immediate positive outcome and I also see the potential for a positive outcome after we go through more growing pains.  I am not sure which way it will go at this point.  I do know we have the power to shift if and when we all come together united by a common goal.

I know this kind of feeling.

As I see history, the momentum for change builds up slowly, but the actual change comes quickly.  I sense that we're getting close to one of those historical tipping points.  Related to this, the generational model proposes that we are near the Fourth Turning

I'm sure this transition period will involve political restructuring and maybe another World War or Cold War, but where I think it will be most obvious is through technological innovation.  We can see even now how all of the various technologies are coming together.  At some point this coalescence will create a shift into a totally different way of social structure and human relations.

I don't see any of this in terms of good or bad.  Its just change.  The circumstances and potentials are new, but the fundamental motivations towards change are the same as they've been throughout history.

Hi Enlightened.thinker!  Thanks for sharing that blog.  I wanted to echo here what others said on that blog.  Whatever is coming, I feel no fear of it.  I have this sense that whatever will be will be and however I am meant to be after, I will be.  There is a sense of staying in observance mode while taking the right actions that are appropriate for me.  Whichever way things go I just know things are playing out on many levels.
