if all goes to plan, I shall soon be working a 3 day week. Glorious!
so what to do with all that time?
well, sleeping well is big on my agenda (when I do work, it is fairly draining, so recovery time is a big issue), more music, more quality blogs :-) and just enjoying the fruits and wonders of the internet.
so how is this possible?
well, I work in a semi-professional role (in an office), and have been there 4+ years. A loyal servant, one might say. I have made changes to my work routine in the past, but this will be the most drastic one thus far. The company gets along with me, and I get along with them, so it's all cool.
how about money?
well, 3 days pay doesn't get you far! after rent, food, utilities, and the occasional replacement clothes, not much is going to be left. Poverty line for sure. But the freedom! the peace of mind! incalculable wealth! peace of mind.
I'm looking forward to the change.
love and light

congratulations! looking forward to more blogs :)
hey Nicole, still my number one fan :-)
I'll look forward to hearing how this transforms you. As a wanderer, your material needs would be few- how much can you carry on the journey anyway, right? More music=good; more naps=also good:-) Enjoy yourself!
Hi Janet. yep, travel light :-) me, my clothes, and my mind. Don't own much else … oh, that's right. Those 3 PIANOS …. doh!
i can almost hear the really great music coming soon! - congratulations and enjoy the new lifestyle :)
Yeh, peace of mind, if you have it, you have it all!
Awesome, Wanderer. I like this idea of your's and think it's real cool! Had you been my boy friend I'd 've been so happy to have you for/with me for the rest of the week! lol:-) but, for now am more than content to read your wonderful blogs…Thankyou.
I believe you can do anything with a willing heart.
For the last two and a half years I have worked very little , and have been on a personal journey. I have made do with what I have. My life is good. I work when I want , and I create , and work on my creative side as well.
I am not in the poverty area , as I will never think on those terms.
It is all in what you create , that brings you true wealth within your heart , and soul.
I believe in you Wanderer 7.
thanks Authentic Soul. I can feel the well wishes from where I am :-) Free time is the soil for personal growth; without it, nothing stands.
and a big hello to ohmsmom, Mila, and Sam!

I am right on your heels although 4 days a week is the amount I'm wanting to do. I'm hoping that in a couple of months I'll be traveling light and living more. I can't wait to here how to do just that when you blog your experience!
Thanks for taking the step to freedom first so that others may follow in your footsteps!
Smiles!

Good luck with that! I generally work 4 days a week (one day is called my “prep” day, which is a pseudo day off….I usually work from home). Anyway, it's cool. But 3–now that's really cool.
BTW…Nicole's your #1 fan? I thought I was…. (:
Uh oh, wanderer7… are we all going to be fighting for the number 1 fan spot! LOL I'll take spot number 5. I'm too tired to fight for number 1! ~grin~
I worked a 20 hr week years ago. I still worked something like 5 days, but it was only a few hours a night.. I was a janitor and it was nice in a way. Even though I was below the poverty line, I made ends meet. By eating Ramen noodles, I had enough money to buy books occasionaly.
Ramen Noodles and books, a good mix.
Reminds me of Arthur Conan Doyle's struggles as a medical student: he had money enough for food or books, but not both. He chose to feed his mind.

in a way, i'd love that kind of simplicity, but at this point in my life living a much more upper middle class kind of life sigh… maybe once the kids are grown and i've built my international association worldwide i can kick back and do what i long to do, semi retire to the West Coast and do open space facilitation
Nicole, are you trying to say that you work more than 20 hrs a week? :)
moi? :) oh, i'm sure that between my learning centre, the IAKF and my volunteer work through the church I don't put in more than 50-70 hours on the busy weeks, and sometimes even less! LOL
