Being a Light Worker

Posted on May 2nd, 2008 by wanderer7 : wanderer7 wanderer7

what is a Light Worker?

and what does it mean?

A Light Worker is here to spread the truth.  They are not here for "themselves" or for "self-gain", they are here primarily to serve others;  they other their knowledge, their healing hands, the abilities as best they can.  Many find themselves working in the "new-age" movement as reiki practitioners, astrologers, or just plain psychics.  However, not all Light Workers have paranormal abilities; some are just plain old ordinary, but are gifted with an insight and resonance for truth; like a true compass.  It guides them, which in turn helps guide others.

Light Workers (apparently) have been incarnating in greater numbers in recent times ... to help the Earth transition to a new period in her existence.  So-called "indigo" children ... and such like, very intuitive and creative beings that buckle the social trends and in doing so, often get labelled as misbehaving or ADHD ... a wrong diagnosis if there ever was one!

So the change is now, and the assistance is all around us.  The Light Workers are forming partnerships on sites such as gaia, connecting and integrating their collective strength.  Their purpose is to overcome with love and truth, to show people that there is a better way of doing things, a more harmonious form of existence than the ones we have as legacies from war-like times.  Genetics and history is not binding.

You may not know yet you are a Light Worker, and what it means ... but those who search, and question, and seek a higher purpose ... you indeed are called.  It's your life-mission, your soul journey.  Fulfillment awaits.

blessings, and love and light,

I assume from your youtube videos and your selfless attitude on this site, you are among the light warriors.  I respect the work you do, and I just wonder what made you choose that path?  What was the point where you knew this was what you wanted to do?

Hi Eric, thanks for the kind words.  Yes, I would consider myself a Light “Warrior” :-) … but the term itself was something i only across about a year ago.  It was sort of the final piece of a long period of self-learning, self-analysis … and that was it!  the final piece :-)  After that, all felt complete, and I could re-enter the world … and contribute.

And people contribute in many different ways … teaching, as you do, is one of the greatest gifts of alll … to enable another person to stand on their own, to empower them to be greater beings. Sometimes those that work 'within' the system are the bravest of them all.  One of my closest friends has taken the same path as you, and although it wears him down, he knows he is doing “light work” as well, although he might not call it that :-)

I suppose I could be described as a light worker.  I was raised in New Thought Christianity and so New Age thinking is ingrained in my psyche.  Also, I've had training in alternative health including energy work and Reiki.  Despite all of that, I don't normally think of myself as a light worker.

I do what I can and I'd like to believe I have a positive influence on the world.  But, at the same time, I can be very cynical about the world.  I've spent too many years absorbed in my depression to feel all that helpful to anyone else.  I figure the best I can do is to do what I love… follow my bliss.

Its interesting you bring this subject up because I was wondering about this the other day.  There are people like Nicole who are very positive and seem so tirelessly active in doing good.  I most definitely don't feel like one of those people, and yet I do feel that what I do is important.  I'm a truth-seeker, but truth-seekers don't get the glory.  Being a simple truth-seeker just doesn't have the nobility and respect that a nun working at an orphanage gets.

(Oh my)

Someone - me - didn't sleep much last evening so any reference to “light warriors” should be replaced by “light workers”.

Either that or I played too much Final Fantasy on the Nintendo in my day.  The characters from that game collectively were called the Light Warriors, and the little red headed mage icon I use sometimes is from that game.

Pardon my malaprop :)

Hi Eric, no, no, no apologies needed!  Light Warriors is also a term thrown about in these circles, for it is a fight, or rather a struggle … to overcome the past and move into better times.  Some might actually identify more with that term than the one I used … especially those that are more politically active and involved in liberation issues (such as those involving animals or habitat protection).  The work there is definitely much more outwardly oriented, more of a “fight” for sure.

Hi Ben, the Light Work is done in many ways … even unknowingly by some people.  They just “follow their heart”.  And of course, not EVERYONE in the New Age is enlightened and knowing; like any mass cultural movement, it attracts its share of hangers on and fad-followers; and also potential cult leaders.  New Age IS a religion in that respect.

And Seeking Truth is where it all starts.   With a question.

Ben and I have quite the mutual admiration society going these days. Thanks, brother, for saying those sweet things about me. I didn't know anything about light workers until I came to gaia and started hearing about them, and have had people refer to me as one. Like you, wanderer, I have long known it is my mission to love as many people as I can, regardless of how they treat me or how they feel about me, and to be light and joy and peace and healing, a channel of God's energy in my friendships, casual contacts and a presence of acceptance and unconditional love.

I used to have a lot more trouble being who I knew I was meant to be but all my experiences, including the recent heartbreak, focus me even more on my path and transform me one baby step at a time into someone just that much closer to my true self.

love, light, joy and peace to you all

I like the idea of light workers and that they are being incarnated.

another brilliant blog my friend,
I was interested how you said '' light workers '' are being incarnated now, has this been over a long period of time, ie many recent years, eg crystal, indigo  children around 200+ or has this process began since the age of aquarius, or before?
I have considered that this has been ongoing however you did say increase?

thank you for another great one..
